Dawn OMalley

Dawn Freeman OMalley, Ooltewah, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning, April 4, 2014, of natural causes, after bearing the burden of Trigeminal Neuralgia (look it up, please...) for over 10 years. She was the Beautiful Owner of the Bluest Eyes, Widest Smile, Brightest Light and Kindest Soul. Her presence will be missed, her memory will be honored, and her life will be celebrated daily by her loving husband of over 20 years, Paul, and her adoring children, Caitlyn and Keegan, of Ooltewah; as well as her mother, Elaine Freeman, of Marietta, Ga.; her sisters, Debbie Freeman Raia and family of New York, N.Y., and Chrissie Freeman Meredith and family, of Mays Landing, N.J.; and her brothers. Tom Freeman Jr., and family of Marietta, and Peter Freeman, of Atlanta; as well as her extended family. Dawn was predeceased by her father, Tom Freeman in 1996. Dawn was born in Bristol, Conn., and spent the first 10 years of her life in Smithtown (Long Island), N.Y. before moving to Dunwoody, Ga. Dawn graduated Dunwoody High School in 1980 and the University of Georgia in 1984. Upon graduating from UGA, she and several close friends promptly moved to Crested Butte, Colo., a place that captured her heart and never fully let it go, and where her ashes will ultimately be scattered. She met her husband Paul in Boulder, Colo., in 1991 and was married on top of Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder in 1993. She moved to Edgewater, Colo., in 1993, Highlands Ranch in 1996 and then Castle Rock in 2001. In 2007, she left her beloved Colorado and moved to Ooltewah. Dawn found her calling in assisting public employees with their retirement financial planning and excelled in every facet, receiving numerous awards and accolades for her accomplishments. Her brilliant career was cut short when she was diagnosed with atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia in 2004. Her famous energies found a new focus as she actively researched and pursued every treatment possible. Her passion for life, her extraordinary warmth and kindness, and most of all- her abundantly loving nature, will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Pattersons Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 (Ph. 404-851-9900).
