Carolyn Massengill

Carolyn Smith-Massengill, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday evening April 9, 2014 in a Chattanooga health care facility. S he was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga. She attended public school in Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Tommie Smith; her daughter, Carmen Smith; grandson, Tommie ONeal Smith; two sisters, Linda Smith and Gloria Smith. Memories will forever be treasured by her three children, Tim (Stephanie) Massengill, Hosea Massengill and Sonya (Johnny) Smith-Leonard; and her special friend Lee Suttles.; five grandchildren, Danetta Smith, Quinton Jackson, Tamika Jackson, Victor Borders, and ADonte Massengill; three sisters, Norma Jean Lindsey, Peggy Smith, and Ardella Smith; step-sisters, Lutena Smith-Lewis, of Atlanta, Ga.; One brother, Tommie Smith Jr,; and loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 , at 1 p.m. at Saint Elmo United Methodist Church Cemetery in Georgetown, Tn., with the Rev. Bishop Wesley Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the Saint Elmo Church. Services of loving memory entrusted to M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home Cleveland, Tenn.
