Rita Joyce McGee Lloyd, 83, formerly of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, April 11, 2014. The family rejoices in her final release from her suffering here on earth. Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her gift of service continues to guide and impact all who were blessed to have known her. She is survived by her husband Bob O. Lloyd, of Lawrenceville; their son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Laura Lloyd; three grandsons, (Ian McGee Lloyd, Thomas Moore Lloyd and Devin Jameson Lloyd); her brother, Pat McGee and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Laura McGee; and sister, June McGee Johnson. The funeral service for Mrs. Lloyd will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2 p.m., in the sanctuary of Piney Baptist Church in Oakdale, Tennessee (GPS address: 275 Piney Church Rd, Oakdale, TN). Joyce's brother, Pastor Pat McGee, will officiate and burial will follow on the grounds at the church. Pallbearers include Joyce's three grandsons, her two nephews (Brad Johnson and Bill McGee) and her great nephew, Daniel McGee. The family will receive friends at Piney Baptist Church in Oakdale from 12-2 p.m. immediately before the service.
