Bessie Bolden

Bessie Lee Burns Bolden, 57, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at a local hospital. She was a graduate of class 1975 from Howard High School. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Queena Bolden; parents, Velpo Burns and Annie Burns Putman. Survivors include three children, Kenric Devenport, LeKesha Bolden and Ashlyn Byrd; six grandchildren; three brothers, Calvin Davis, Mirrie and Orlander Burns; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at noon Friday, April 18, 2014 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Avondale. Interment in Highland Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
