Robbye Reep

Robbye Sue Bright Reep, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Alexian Village. The daughter of the late Leon and Hallie Coppinger Bright, she spent the early years of her life in Hardin County, Tenn. Following graduation from Corinth High School in Corinth, Miss., she attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. She transferred to Florence State University, now known as the University of North Alabama, where she earned her B.S. degree. She taught school in Oak Ridge, Tenn., before moving to Lookout Mountain where she met and married her husband Charlie. She and Charlie made their home there for many years and were founding members of Lookout Mountain United Methodist Church. They later attended First-Centenary United Methodist Church and currently attend Signal Mountain United Methodist Church. Robbye enjoyed a long and successful career in the Human Resources Department with TVA. She also was active in the Chattanooga chapter of DAR. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Harmon Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Helen Reep, Nina Reep Termina and Joe Termina. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 57 years, Charles Wesley Reep; her brother-in-law, Grady Reep (Myrt); nieces, Hallye Raye Smith Stringer (Ken), Karen Elizabeth Smith Painter (Denny), Jan Reep Dill (David) and Paula Termina Cunningham (Bill); and nephews Joe Termina (Wanda Draper) and Steve (Yvonnie) Reep. She is also survived by the children and grandchildren of her nieces and nephews, all of whom she embraced as her own. A funeral ceremony to commemorate her life will be held at 1 p.m. today, April 18, 2014, at Signal Mountain United Methodist Church, 3419 Taft Highway, Signal Mountain, with Dr. J.N. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation today from noon until the hour of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial be made, in Robbyes name, to Young Life of Williamson County, Post Office Box 2766, Brentwood, TN 37204. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the special caregivers and Alexian Village for their care of Robbye.
