Opal Gibson

Opal L. Gibson, 88, of Ooltewah, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born April 10, 1926 in Reliance, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Mike and Oma Boring of Cleveland, Tenn. A member of Brainerd Baptist Church, she was a prior member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful choir member for over 25 years. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila A. (Bob) Kincaid; grandchildren, Kristy (Travis) Hager, of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Rob (Carolyn) Kincaid, of Southern Pines, N.C. She is also survived by her great-grandsons, Liam and Jake Kincaid; one sister, Inez Robertson, of Ooltewah; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Evans and the Rev Jim Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
