John Curtis Hunter passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at the age of 90. He was born in 1924. John was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He graduated from Howard High School in 1942, followed by a distinguished career as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was decorated with the WWII Victory Medical, American Service Medal and the European, African and Middle East Service Medal with three Bronze stars. John was an intelligent, kind and gentle man who will also be dearly missed and much admired by many generations of the family of Ruth and Gordon Street and the Elliott Family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Hunter. Services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, at National Cemetery with services conducted by Dr. John Carter.
