LaFAYETTE Barbara Hathorne Whiteside, 79, died Monday, April 21, 2014, in Fort Myers, Fla. Preceded parents, Jesse and Myrtle Stewart Hathorne; sisters, Jackie Hopkins, Dot Wallis, Dian McGill; brothers, Jab, Bill and Maynard Hathorne. Survivors: daughters, Paula Sisk, Cyntha Rendon; son, Bill Whiteside; sisters, Thelma Clark, Elaine Thompson; brother, Charles Hawthorn; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home. Service conduct by Minister Mack Stephens. Interment LaFayette Memory Garden. Visitation 6-8 p.m. today.
