Cody Hughes

Cody Duncan Hughes, 16, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Cody was a member of the sophomore class at Heritage High School. There, he was active in the Future Farmers of America where he received several honors in state and district competitions. A well-loved young man, Cody will be remembered for his excellent manners, his love of his pickup truck, and for how easy it was to talk to him. He attended Christian Worship Center in Whitwell, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gayle Link, and great-grandfather, Hubert Duncan. Cody is survived by his parents, Heath and Mary Hughes; brother, Cameron Hughes; sister, Caylee Hughes; grandparents, Walter Hughes and Etta Louise Thomas; great-grandmother, Bernice White; numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway with Rev. Allen Griffin officiating. Burial will be at Ooltewah Cemetery.
