Hubert Hawkins

Hubert Lee Hawkins, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 23, 2014. A native of Rising Fawn, Ga., he has lived in the Catoosa County area for more than 65 years. He was a retired employee of Standard-Coosa-Thatcher where he worked for more than 30 years and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church where he formerly served as Deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Ruth Allen Hawkins; parents, Samuel Howard and Pearl Virginia Forester Hawkins and three brothers, Robert, Howard and Stephen Hawkins. He is survived by four Children, Selina Hawkins Denham (Wayne), of Ooltewah, Sharon Bridges Cripps (L.C.), of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Phillip Bridges (Wanda), of Tunnel Hill, and Gary Bridges (Nita), of Rocky Face, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Jo Lewis (Lester) of Ringgold, Ga., Gladys Williams, of Ringgold, Ga., and Kathryn McCulley (Gary), of Chatsworth, Ga.; three grandchildren, Stacy Cripps McAlister (Harold), Brett Cripps (Amy) and Shannon Bridges; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lillard Stringer officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and Saturday until funeral time at the funeral home. An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
