LaFAYETTE James "Lamar" McClure, 73, passed away at his home on Friday, April 25, 2014. He was a member of Mason Western Lodge 91 and Elks Lodge #2018. He worked as a boilermaker out of Chattanooga, until 1996. He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall McClure. Survived by his wife, Mary McClure; mother, Bertha McClure; three sons, Robert Lamar (Judy) McClure, Kenny (Jamie) Hale, Joey (Crystal) Hale, all of LaFayette; three daughters, Christy Johnson, Pam (Ricky) Williams, Tonya (Michale) Hill; two brothers, Ronnie (Barbara) McClure, Donnie (Martha) McClure; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren also survive. Lamar is loved and will be missed by his family so very much. The family would like to thank everyone at Life Choice Hospice for all their help during his sickness. Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday.The funeral will be officiated by Ministers Ricky Studdard and Don Dowda. Pallbearers will be Curry, Derick and Cam McClure, Kevin McKenzie, Bill Watkins and Troy Dawson. Honary pallbearers are to be the grandchildren. Interment will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette in charge of the arrangements.
