Anna North

Anna North ROSSVILLE Anna W. North, 78, died Sunday, April 27, 2014. Anna was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, North Georgia area and member of McFarland United Methodist Church since 1956. She enjoyed participating in the church worship committee and youth programs. Anna graduated in 1953 from Chattanooga City High School and attended the University of Chattanooga where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She retired after 30 years as a floral designer from Ensign Florist. Mrs. North was a founding member of the Rossville Jaycettes in the late sixties, early seventies, and served as president for a term. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Anna was preceded in death by parents, William Sr. and Mildred Washington; and brother, Lawrence Washington. Mrs. North is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard B. North Sr.; daughter, Terri Ann North, Atlanta; son, Richard (Claudia) B. North Jr, Atlanta; grandson, Richard B. North III, Atlanta; granddaughter, Margaret Anna (Maggie) North, Atlanta. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Matt Hampton and the Rev. Gary Grogg officiating. Interment will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
