Kenneth Max Reed, 83, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 in an area health care facility. Mr. Reed retired from Conoco Oil Co. as a district manager and was of the Lutheran faith. His career spanned several decades and multiple industries, but he will most be remembered by his family for his unfailing sense of humor, his work ethic and his guiding principle: if its worth doing, it's worth doing right. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Reed; parents, Robert and Eunice Reed; brothers, Tom and George Reed. Survivors include his sons, Steven (Brenda) Reed, of South Carolina; and John (Sandy) Reed, of Ohio; daughters, Cheryl (Frank) Partyka, of North Carolina, Michelle (Bob) Baker, Soddy-Daisy, and Gaile (Ian) Timmins, of North Carolina; sisters, Carrie Thayer, of Wyoming, and Lorrain Lorenzen, of Washington; grandchildren, Rob Reed, Bryan Partyka, Kelly Wenzel, Eric Baker, Shannon Baker and Taylor Rana; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Heidi, Addison, Andrew and Audra; sisters-in-law, Ardys Reed, of Indiana, and Helen Reed, of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private.
