Clifford Chambers

Clifford Alvin Chambers, 81, lifelong resident of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church for over 18 years, where he was a special singer and played in the band. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a tax enforcement officer with the state of Tennessee where he retired after 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Harrison Lodge# 114, Scottish Rites and Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judd and Lela Chambers; brother, Leon "Bob" Chambers; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Ruben Daugherty. Survivors include his wife, Marie Chambers of Harrison; daughters, Margaret (Donnie) Mullins of Harrison and Debra (Bill) Cannon of Franklin, Tenn.; sister, Dorothy Varnell of Rossville; grandchildren, Donnie (Angie) Mullins Jr. of Ooltewah and Marie (Shane) Blaylock of Chickamauga; great-grandchildren, Zane Blaylock, Cam and Jackson Mullins; several nieces and nephews; special friend, his dog Maggie. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Dotson and Rev. Kenneth Baily officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Maple Grove Gospel Band will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday at Maple Grove Baptist Church and on from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday.
