John Amburgey

John Amburgey RINGGOLD John K. Amburgey, 58, peacefully joined our Lord early Thursday morning. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Vivian Amburgey, and wife Laura. His memory is carried on by his partner, Marcia Fox and her daughter, Trinity of Ringgold, Ga., sister, Kathey (Tony) Christian of Kingsport, Tenn., and brother Kevin (Melinda) Amburgey of Blairsville, Ga. He was a graduate of University of Tennessee, where he received his engineering degree and began his life long career as a nuclear engineer, most recently with Sargent and Lundy. John was an avid UT Vols football fan. His other passions included fishing, reading, cooking, traveling and, bluegrass music. John will be held in our hearts as a loving, generous and passionate man of reason. He is and will always be greatly loved. A memorial Celebration of Life will take place in approximately one month allowing personal time for his loved ones. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Front Row Foundation, an organization that provided "front row" experiences for adults battling terminal illnesses as John wished.
