Donald Westbrook

Donald Earl Westbrook, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014. Mr. Westbrook was born in Terre Haute, Ind., to Roy and Marcella Westbrook. He was raised in Chattanooga and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1949, and the University of Chattanooga in 1959. He retired from DuPont and later from the real estate business. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Betty Chambers Westbrook; son, Larry Westbrook; daughter, Angie Westbrook; two granddaughters, Kristy (Kevin) Cranford and Wendy D. Westbrook; half-sisters, Joyce Doremus and Dorothy Westbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, Aug. 5, and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
