Hubert Humbard

Hubert Ernest Humbard, 88, of Hixson, passed away from this life on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. Hubert was born in Cleveland, Tenn., and was a graduate of Central High School. He proudly served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Hubert was very instrumental in the building of Brainerd Church of Christ. He was a carpenter and retired from Cordes Doors in Hialeah, Fla., before returning to the Chattanooga area. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Humbard. Hubert is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Billie McCord Humbard; granddaughter, Jennifer Arcuri; and a very special friend, Ron Connelly and his family. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and support given to the Humbard family during his illness. They have also asked that memorial contributions be made in Huberts name to Hospice of Chattanooga at 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. There will be no visitation or services per the request of Hubert.
