Elaine Caye

Elaine Estes Caye, 55, of Chattanooga and formerly of Athens, Tenn., died Monday morning, Aug. 4, 2014, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. A native of McMinn County and resident of Chattanooga for the past 11 years, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Mary Brown Estes. She was a member of East Brainerd United Methodist Church in Chattanooga and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Athens. She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and received her Masters' Degree in Counseling from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. She was in private practice with her husband in counseling and clinical psychology. She is survived by her husband, David Caye, of Chattanooga; one daughter and son-in-law, Lissa and Kevin Lovett, of North Salt Lake City, Utah; one son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. (Ret) USAF John David and Catherine St. Sure Caye, of Novato, Calif.; grandchildren, Elyana and Signe St. Sure Caye, Grant, and Joel Lovett; two brothers and sister-in-law, Steve (Jennifer) Estes, of Riceville and Ronnie Estes, of Athens; a sister-in-law, Donna Estes, of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at East Brainerd United Methodist Church in Chattanooga with Rev. Mark Davis officiating, the body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. The committal service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Smith Funeral & Cremation Services of Athens. Pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Martin, Thomas Hinkle, Ronnie Estes and Zachary Estes. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to National Multiple Scelrosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
