Don Alexander, Jr

Don Alexander Jr. TAMPA Verdon "Don" E. Alexander Jr.,, 83, passed away July 16, 2014, in Tampa. He was born in Middlesboro, Ky. on Oct. 12, 1930. His family moved to Chattanooga where he grew up. He graduated McCallie School, class of 1948, moved to Atlanta, and graduated Emory University Class of 53 school of business. Moving to Tampa, he became a Real Estate Broker and Realtor specializing in commercial Real Estate and earned CCIM designation. He enjoyed his profession and the respect of his peers. Over his lifetime he was actively involved as a member of Phi Delta Theta, Lions Club Civitan, Greater Tampa Association of Realtors, Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Florida Realtors, National CCIM and Florida Chapter CCIM, Methodist Men and became a member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verdone and Charlotte H. Alexander Sr.; Barbara B. Alexander (first wife) and his son, T. Andrew Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Alma James Alexander; sons, Brian L. (Lynn) Alexander and Carter (Karen) Alexander; stepson, Edward W. James; stepdaughter, Kathryn N. James; daughter-in-law, Connie Alexander; grandchildren, Trevor, Tracie (Rob), Benjamin and Sarah Alexander, Amanda and E.J. James; sister, Eleanor Cunningham; nephew, Rhine Cunningham; sister-in-law, Judy (Jesse) Armstrong. A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 26, at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church.
