Johnnie Hampton

Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Hampton, 77, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at her home with her family at her side. She was a member of the Palmer Church of God. She was born in White County, Tenn., on Feb. 27, 1937 to John A. and Nellie Dykes Cordell who preceded her in death along with her sister, Helen Summers. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Kenny) Knight, Estill Springs, Ruth Ann Hampton (Rod Harrison), Hixson; sons, Randy (Rena) Hampton and Wesley (Roxanne) Hampton, both of Palmer; sister, Geneva Hancock, Crossville; brother, Clifford (Joyce) Cordell, Palmer; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the family and Brother Bill Smith officiating with burial to follow in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
