Douglas Oliver

Douglas S. Oliver, 74, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014. Doug was born in San Francisco, Calif., and joined the Navy at age 16. Two of his passions were flying his air planes and photography. His sales career started at the age of 12 as a newspaper boy, then owned a truck route delivering bread in California. He then owned a wedding studio for many years. until he launched into his final career in insurance sales. In every field, he earned top salesman of the year over and over again. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Ruth and Foster Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Nadia; his daughter, Dolene Vernes; his son, Kenneth Oliver; and five grandchildren, Jesse and Wyatt Vernes who live in Oregon and Hayden, Kaylee and Dylan Oliver, who live in the United Kingdom. Funeral services will be at the Advantage Funeral home at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. Flowers can be delivered to the funeral home.
