Larry Joiner Jr.

Larry Eugene Joiner Jr., 48, has been healed! He went to be with his Lord Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. He was born Nov. 13, 1965, in Kentucky and lived in Cincinnati until 1975. He moved to Chattanooga when he was 10. He attended Tennessee Temple High School, Cromwell High School and Brainerd High School. In December of 2013 he received his associates degree from Belhaven University. Larry was active with the Chattanooga Theater Center and the Backstage Playhouse in Brainerd. He was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and of South East Tennessee Tres Dias #43. He was very proud of his accomplishment as Chattanoogas Biggest Loser. Larry worked for Shaw Industries for 23 years. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Alabama. He was preceded in death by a daughter Faith Noel Joiner. Survivors include his wife, Autumn Joiner; daughter Hope S. Joiner; parents Larry and Jo Ann Joiner Sr.; sister, Paula F. (Roy) Chapman; brother-in-law, David (Elizabeth) Cornelius; mother-in-law, Betty J. Cornelius; and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Brainerd Baptist Church with Mark Carpenter and Keith Troop officiating. The family will receive friends at Brainerd Baptist Church from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Todd Cockerham and the staff at University Surgical Associates, Dr. Derek Holland and the staff at Tennessee Oncology, the staff at Parkridge 4th floor West, and Hospice of Chattanooga and a special thanks to Amy and Heather.
