Charles Brockman

Charles Ellis "Red" Brockman, 71, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and a member of Peavine Baptist Church. Red was a graduate of Ringgold High School class of 1960 and retired in 2004 from Komatsu America after 16 years and Chattanooga Glass before that for 26 years. He was an avid fisherman, who spent many hours on the water. Red was preceded in death by his father, C.R. Brockman. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Martha Davis Brockman; mother, Augusta Brockman Stinson; son, David (Tina) Brockman; sisters, Barbara Poindexter and Brenda (Gene) Sweatmon; granddaughter, Haley (Sean) Heatherly; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. James Shackelford officiating. Interment will follow in Peavine Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today and prior to the service on Sunday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis Stewart Chapel.
