L.D. Stubbs

Stubbs, 71, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014. He was born Feb. 22, 1943 in Clinton, Tenn., the son of Sam and Edna Duncan Stubbs. He was employed with Home Depot as a sales agent in Chicago, and was also a member of Homestead Baptist Church in Crossville. He is survived by his companion, Tim Steinke, of Chicago; brother, Sam Ed Stubbs, of Minnesota; sister, Ella Stubbs Turner, of Crossville; sister-in-law, Betty Calahan Stubbs, of Hixson; special nieces and nephew, Connie Turner Taylor, Sabra Stubbs Steurmer, Cindy Turner Brown, Samuel Pete Stubbs and Susan Stubbs Frederickson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Pete Stubbs. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. two hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery. The family has respectfully asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 East Adams St., Crossville, TN, 38555 for Cumberland House Hospice, or the Homestead Baptist Church Flower Fund, 4427 Highway 127 South, Crossville, TN 38572.
