Stella Louise McCoy Houser, 79, of Ormond Beach, Fla., (formerly of Flat Rock) died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Halifax Health Hospice. Mrs. Houser was preceded in death by her parents, John Theodore and Eula Houston Thornhill McCoy; husband, Claude Allen "Al" Houser; brothers, Jimmy and Johnny McCoy; sister, Dot Williams. She was a retired bus driver for Flat Rock School and had served on the Jackson County Commission. She is survived by son, Ronny Houser; daughters, Sheri (Clarence) Hughes, Donna (Larry) Davis, Amelia Houser (Mark Rowland); grandchildren, Keith (Iris) Hughes, Celeste (Clint) Truran, Brad (Marji) Hughes, Rachel Rowland and Charles Rowland; great-grandchildren, Haley, Morgan, Lyric and Lana Hughes, Claudia and Maitland Truran; sister, Hilda Crabtree.
