Buddy Turner

James Oscar "Buddy" Turner, 81, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was born to the late Brown N. and Lella Smith Turner in Bledsoe County, but spent most of his life in Rossville. He was of the Baptist faith. Buddy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Peerless Mills in Rossville before retiring from U.S. Pipe in 1995 after 30 years. Buddy was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Robbie Smith Turner; sons, Terry Turner of Soddy-Daisy and Sandy (Carol) Turner of Marietta; sister, Loretta Kelley of Rossville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Scott Young officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-5 p.m. today, Aug. 24, and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, Red and Shelby Clark, Eunella and Danny McGill, and Debbie Gunter for the care and support they have given during this difficult time.
