Marjorie Mavity

Marjorie Smith Mavity, 83, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2014. Marjorie was a member of the LaFayette First Baptist Church for 63 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Mavity. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carol (Buster) Hollis, and Connie (Alex) Kimble, all of LaFayette; grandchildren, Sue Ann (Chris) Woods, Joseph Hollis, Seth Kimble and Natalie (Juston) White; great-grandchildren, Paxton White, Emma-Claire Woods, Jordan Michelle Woods and Patience Cook; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Cozy Manor and Hospice of Chattanooga for their compassionate care that they gave to their mother. Graveside service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, with Minister Mack Stephens officiating. Pallbearers are Alex Kimble, Buster Hollis, Joseph Hollis, Seth Kimble, Justin White, and Chris Woods. Interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family ask donation be made to St. Jude Hospital. No visitation is planned. The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
