Tony Saffles

Tony Saffles, 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed with the Chattanooga Choo Choo Maintenance Division for more than 32 years, but his true passion in life was being completely devoted to taking care of his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Saffles; mother, Lucille Moreland; sister, Ila Jean Williams; and grandson, Cody Rominger. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 21 years, Linda Case Saffles of Fort Oglethorpe; children and spouses, Toni Lynn (Tracy) Rominger of Ringgold, Tommy (Staci) Saffles of East Ridge, Wendy (Scott) Whittle of Calhoun, Ga., and Jeffery Morris of Ringgold; two sisters, Faye Silvers and Lois Bradford, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Swafford-Davis Cemetery in Georgetown, Tenn., with Brother David Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. There will be no visitation on Tuesday; everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Doctors and Staff of Tapestry Hospice and Care at Home for their love and compassion during this difficult time.
