Emma Buckner

Emma Giles Buckner, 82, of Wicksburg, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Buckner was born April 23, 1932 in Catoosa County, Ga. and lived most of her life in Rossville. She has been a resident of Wicksburg for the past several years. She was employed as a nurse and a beautician during her working career. She loved art, especially painting. Mrs. Buckner was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith. She is survived by a son, Melvin (Jan) Giles, of Wicksburg; three grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Doris Gordy, of Rossville. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother David Giles officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe.
