Bill Nabors J. Willi

am "Bill" Nabors went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014. He grew up in Chattanooga, and graduated from Hixson High School. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, he sensed God calling him to be a missionary. Bill graduated from Toccoa Falls College and married his wife of 63 years, Lois McIlrath, of New Castle, Pa. They served in Thailand, working in evangelism, church planting, and leprosy work. He also held several pastorates here in the United States, including First Alliance Church in Chattanooga. In 1974, he was elected as District Superintendent of the Southern District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance where he served for 15 years. In 1992, he planted North River Alliance Church in Hixson, and pastored for 7 1/2 years before his final retirement. Bill and Lois moved to DeLand, Fla., in 2003. Bill is survived by his wife, Lois; and three sisters, Coretta Nabors, Jewell Steiner and JoAnn Kolafa.
