Marshall McGill

Marshall LaBron "Moose" McGill, 75, departed this life Friday, Aug. 29, 2014. Marshall served in the U.S. Navy and later retired from Colonial Bread Company after 26 years of service there. He loved fishing, flea markets, gardening, animals particularly his dog, "Bo" and working as an auctioneer. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe McGill. Survivors include his wife, Sue McGill of Chickamauga; mother, Velma "Memaw" Porter of Rossville; children, Chan McGill of Rome, Ga., LaBron McGill of Hiram, Ga., Sandra Benefield of Waco, Ga., Mellissa Brodie of Ringgold, Carmen Lutton of Rossville; brother, Kenneth McGill of LaFayette; grandchildren, Brittany, Kyle, Brooke, Morgan, Steven, Abigail; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
