Pearl Billingsley

Pearl L. Billingsley, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec 17, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. She was born in Heflin, Ala., to Goree and Hattie Fowlkes. She was a faithful member of Tucker Baptist Church. She served on the ministers wives union, Good Neighbors, usher board, Mass Choir and volunteered at Erlanger. She was retired from Erlanger Hospital as a security guard and was well known for her private catering events. She was also known for being the hardest working woman in Chattanooga due to her having so many jobs. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. M.T. Billingsley, and was the last of seven siblings. Survivors are daughter, Priscilla (Harold) McGhee; sons, JaFus Trammell, Albuquerque, N.M.; granddaughter, Camille P. Davis; grandsons, Rev. Adrian D. Davis, Rhys Trammell and Brauer Trammell; brother-in-law, Fred Jones; sister-in-law, Lula Mae Fowlkes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. A special thank you to Tucker Baptist Church for your weekly visits. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, at Tucker Baptist Church with Rev. Adrian D. Davis Eulogist and Rev. Gary Hathaway officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
