Steve OShields

Steve OShields, 54, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Kirkman Tech class of 78, employed with Chattanooga Boiler and Tank, previously employed with Mueller Co. for more than 20 years and Chattanooga Coke and Chemical before that. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed spending time on the lake and time with his family and grandkids and he loved Marion County athletics and Alabama football (Roll Tide). He was preceded in death by his dad, Jack OShields; and his baby girl, Mandy Nicole; as well as his grandparents, Maude and Dewey OShields, and George and Lorene McKinney, along with aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Brenda OShields, of Guild; mother, Betty OShields, of Flintstone, Ga.; children, Miranda (Daniel) Burt, of Rossville, Autumn (Mickey) Robinson, of Chattanooga, Clay OShields, of Guild, Brandy (Justin) Vernon, of Rossville, Lisa (Ron) Symmonds, of Tunnel Hill, Dusty (Michael) Brahnan, of Clarksville, Tenn.; siblings, Karen OShields, of Flintsone, Ga., Jackie (David Oehlson), of Seymour, Tenn., Michael (April) OShields, of Flintstone; 10 grandchildren, along with a slew of nieces, nephews, aunt, and uncles, and a special niece, his person. Stacy Allen, of Flintstone. The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Ghandis office as well as all of the wonderful nurses at Parkridge Hospital. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Service will at 2 p.m. CST today at Bible Baptist Church with burial following in Sequatchie Gardens.
