Joetta Harris

Joetta Schmitt Harris, 84, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member on Pathway Baptist Church. Joetta retired in 2003 from Goodwill Industries after 12 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed. Joetta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Harris Jr.; parents, Charles C. and Henrietta Ball Schmitt; son, Terry Harris; grandson, Donnie Harris; and sister, Betty Atkins. She is survived by her son, Henry Lee (Mary) Harris; sister, Dorothy Workman; brothers, Leon "Bud" Schmitt, Charles "Chock" Schmitt and Frankie Schmitt; grandchildren, Terry Harris Jr., Brittany Harris and Destanie Harris; great-grandchild, Anthony; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Dec. 23, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Rev. Mark Smith officiating. The family will receive friends prior to leaving for the service on Tuesday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
