Jerry Kilgore

Mr. Jerry Dean Kilgore, 80, of Lebanon, Tenn., passed away Dec. 19, 2014, at Summit Medical Center from complications of heart disease and diabetes. He was born in Weakley County, Tenn., the son of the late Ralph Ewing Kilgore and Zodia Gatewood Kilgore. He was 1952 graduate of Chattanooga High School and attended UT Chattanooga. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired from CSX Railroad as an engineer and was the owner of Kilgore Awards for thirty years. He was active in local and national Field Trial organizations and attended the LaGuardo Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jewel Allen Kilgore; three children, Michael Dean (Keren) Kilgore, Michele (Keith) Humphrey, Shannon (Terry Harris) Kilgore; grandchildren, Abigail (Jeremy) Gerber, Derek (Amber) Kilgore, Jessica (Mattison) Johnson, Meagan (Joshua) Sexton, Paxton Harris; great-grandchildren, Addison and Ethan Kilgore, Miley and Kian Johnson, Sydney Gerber (arriving in April!); brother, Terry (Bonnie) Kilgore; sister, Patsy (Bill) Brownsey. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, Lebanon, Tenn. Interment: Wilson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Houston Co. Library, P.O. Box 183, Erin, TN 37061, or Tennessee Chapter ALSA, P.O. Box 40244, Nashville, TN 37204.
