Edith Roach

Edith Faye Roach, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at her home. She was born May 7, 1931 in Palmer, Tenn., to the late Clayton and Janie Dykes Lockhart. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and was an avid artist and songwriter. Edith was a godly and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her brother, Elder Lockhart preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Calvin Roach; children, Yvonnda Gail White, of Boynton, Ga., Anthony Wayne Michaels, of Orlando, Fla., Katrina Looney, of Ringgold, Ga.; sisters, Alice Kenner, of Dunlap, Tenn., JoAnn Walker, of Palmer, Tenn.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. Danny Henson and Chaplain Richard Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery.
