Jerry Lebron Brooks, 61, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, in Nashville, He was born Sept. 12, 1952 to Mary L. Evans and the late Horace Brooks. Jerry was a graduate of Ooltewah High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of TVA, Plumbers Steamfitters Local 43 and St. Peter Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Milton Evans. Survivors include his daughter, Shawanna Caudle; grandchildren, Wayne and Christopher Caudle; mother, Mary L. Evans; sisters, Loritta and Loretta Brooks, Annette and Rosalind Evans; aunts, Bernice Jackson, Mary Greer, Atlanta; uncle, Nathaniel (Beverly) Long, Buffalo, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Stephanie Talley, Reginald Cousin, Ms. Alyce Scott; a host of other relatives and friends. Service will be noon Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in the chapel with Elder Sandra Bramlett officiating. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
