Charles Edward "Eddie" Lerch, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 in his home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Chattanooga, to the late Alma Norine Chadd Lerch and Charles Arlice Lerch. Eddie graduated from Central High School and played football for their state champion teams in 1954 and 1955. In the Navy Reserve he served time as a Petty Officer and was Honorably Discharged in May 1962. He was a former member of Brainerd Baptist Church. Eddie worked as an Ironworker for over 30 years locally. He was also a member of the Iron Workers Local 704, East Lake Mason Lodge #698, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Eddie is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Leland "Lee"; daughters, Cindy Lerch, of Loma Linda, Calif., and Shelly Stiefel and her husband, Donny, of Soddy Daisy; granddaughter, Brittany Brogdon and her fianc Chris Warren; and great-granddaughter, Emmalee. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev.
