Eugenia Kington

Eugenia "Jean" Kington, 98, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at a local health care facility. She was a registered Nurse having graduated from St. Thomas Nursing School in Nashville. Jean was employed as an industrial nurse by Wheland Foundry (North American Royalties) upon her retirement She was preceded in death by her husband, Chief Leroy Kington, of the Chattanooga Police Department who passed away in December of 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, L.J. Hassler and Kenneth Hassler. Ms. Kington is survived by three sons, Dr. John Kington, of Signal Mountain, David and Steve Kington, of Chattanooga; one grandson John Kington II, of Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services with be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Marvin Fowler Officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
