Larry Landers

Larry Calvin Landers, 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Ringgold. He was an Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era and had previously owned and operated Landers Transmission for most of his life. He enjoyed watching wrestling, going four wheelin and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Landers Sr.; and two brothers, Louis E. "Sonny" Landers Jr. and Jerry Wayne Landers. Survivors include his mother, Rosie B. Landers, of Ringgold, Ga.; his loving wife of more than 42 years, Christine Patrice Landers, of Flintstone; daughters and sons-in-law, Misty & (Chuck) Rogers, of Flintstone, Wendy and (Donnie) Eaton and Rose and (Jody) Berry, all of Ringgold, and Carolyn Landers, of Flintstone; two brothers, Roger Landers and Bobby Landers; sister, Pat Hope, all of Ringgold, Ga.; two granddaughters, Ashley Rogers and Annaleigh Eaton; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill and Louise Boran. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Dr. Rob Borders officiating. Burial will be private.
