Doris Bowen

Doris Bowen, 79, passed away at her Chattanooga home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. She had been under the care of Hospice for a number of weeks and the family was present at the time of her passing. Doris grew up on a farm in South West Michigan. After high school she obtained a degree and became a Registered Nurse. Five years later, in 1963, she graduated from Madison Hospitals school of Nurse Anesthesia. In 1972, Doris began work for Erlanger Hospital. A few years latter Doris began working for Memorial Hospitals Anesthesia Associates where she worked for most of her tenure in Chattanooga. Doris husband, Walter Bowen preceded her. Doris is survived by her three children, Todd (Rhonda) Bowen, Julie (Amos) Smith and Jana Bowen. Doriss grandchildren, Joe Palmer, Brooke Aldridge, Pam Smith, Casey and Logan Bowen, will miss their loving grandmother.
