Frances Kinney

Frances Kinney, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. She was 97 years old. She was born in Schultz, S.C., and enjoyed traveling to foreign countries. Frances lived in Europe and Trinidad before returning to the states in the 1960s and has been a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She was an Independent Business Woman who enjoyed owning and managing her own real estate. She was very active in the operations for programming at WAPO radio and WRGP TV which is now WRCB in Chattanooga for many years. Frances booked acts at the Memorial Auditorium where she enjoyed meeting many celebrities. She was a longtime member at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Womens Club. She enjoyed her membership with the Pilot Club and serving as a volunteer at the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" C. Kinney; siblings, Helen Patterson, Louise Walsh and Terry Harley. Frances is survived by her brother, Kinney Harley and his wife Sandy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends. Frances was also known to her family and friends as "Seenie". A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 3204 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343, with her Pastor Barry Hildebrandt officiating. A private burial will be held on Monday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
