Gloria Chambers Wallace lifted her eyes to Glory on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. She was 89 year young. She was a member of New Monumental Baptist Church. Gloria graduated from Howard High School in 1942. She retired from Provident Life Insurance Co. after many years of service. She was very active with her class and belonged to many social and service clubs and committees. Glorias favorite things included playing Bridge, traveling, reading and hosting parties. But nothing compares to the joy she felt as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She lit up the room when she entered and her smile was as bright as the sun. She was the family historian and nobody had your back like she did. She was a shoulder to cry on and a wonderful counselor. Gloria went over and beyond for anyone who needed her and she could sit and tell family stories for hours on end. The great legacy she leaves behind is her faith. She loved the Lord and showed it daily. She always had a song of praise on her tongue. The angels are rejoicing because Gloria is home. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, William P. Wallace Sr.; son, William P. Wallace II; parents, Carl Lee and Vivian Chambers; four brothers, CW, June, Thurston, Kenneth Chambers; granddaughter, Gloria Lee. Those left to cherish her memory: two sons, Edward D.
