James "Bud" Nicholson, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. He was born Sept. 9, 1939. He attended Chattanooga City School. James worked at US Pipe and Foundry until he retired after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Washington Weaver; and father, Alonzo Nicholson; brother, John Phillip Nicholson; sister, Beverly Denise Nicholson and Doris Weaver. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted wife of 58 years, Juanita Nicholson; children, James (Mildred) Nicholson Jr., of Chattanooga, Vanessa (Antonio) Calloway of Augusta, Ga., Natalie (Offord) Sims, of Chattanooga, Carla (Thomas) Miller, of Chattanooga; brother, Tommy (Jerrell D.) Weaver, of Chattanooga, Randy (Essie) Weaver, of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Deborah Jean (John) Lizardi, of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters-in-law, Billie Jo Barrow, Shirley (Willie) Sims, Clara (Charlie) Porter; brothers-in-law, Robert (Vela) Moore and Danny (Barbara) Moore; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in the chapel with Pastor Freddie Fallins officiating. Interment in Highland Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
