James Neely Jr.

James Alvin Neely Jr., of East Ridge, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his home. He was born June 3, 1948 a son of the late James Alvin Neely Sr. and Helen Hix Neely. Mr. Neely was a graduate of City High School and was retired from the city of Chattanooga where he was very dedicated to his job of 35 years. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Belinda Neely; two sons, Todd Neely and Scott (Denise) Neely; daughter, Stacie (David) Combs; grandchildren, Tyler Neely, Brian (Heather) Neely, Bailey Combs, Payton Downs, Eli Combs, Erica Pittman and Jessica Judkins; great-grandchildren, Noah Neely and Haley Neely. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jason and Jennifer Daverson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Steve Fletcher officiating.
