Sybil Hatmaker

Sybil Earline Hatmaker, 96, of Hixson, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1918 in Calhoun, Ga., to the late Benjamin F. and Hattie M. Phillips. She attended First Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Charles Edward Hatmaker; son, Lamar Stansel; brothers, Jack, Millard, Howard, and Doc Phillips; and one sister, Gladys Smith preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Charlene Hatmaker and Eddie (Donna) Hatmaker, of Hixson; grandchildren, Shannon (Nathan) Moore and Mitchell Stansel; and two great-granchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the North Chapel with Rev. Chris Ehlers officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 1-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
