Hannah Ruth Bettis, 84, a resident of Birchwood, passed from this earth into the loving arms of her Savior Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014. Hannah was born in Chattanooga on May 5, 1929 to the late Amanda Hensley Williamson and Dove Williamson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Frank Bettis; sisters, Bessie Jane Hensley, May Marie Hixson, Katie Pearl Dunn, Rosa Francis Harden, Ester Lee Stokes, Lena Cutten and Nettie Lewis; her brothers, Jessie Franklin Hensley, James Roscoe Hensley, William Hilman Hensley and Wiley Williamson. She was employed at GMAC for several years until she began rearing her children. She worked tirelessly on the farm and providing for her family. She was a member of Hopewell Church of God. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Eschette and her husband, Keith, of Georgetown, Lisa Lowe and her husband, Jeff, of Birchwood; two grandchildren, Kevin Eschette and Olivia Lowe. She also left behind many nieces and nephews that will miss her greatly. A Remembrance of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the North Ocoee St. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Jerry Millwood and George Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Grasshopper Cemetery with Kevin Eschette, Joe Hensley, Barry Harris, Joshua Harris, Ryan Hixson and David Baughn serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from noon Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
