Emma Whitaker

Emma "Louise" Whitaker, 91, of Harrison, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday morning, Feb. 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Whitaker who she loved deeply. Mrs. Whitaker was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU and the Willing Workers Sunday School class. She also was retired from the Hamilton County Nursing Home and the Hamilton County School System. Survivors include; her five children, William "Buddy" Whitaker and wife, Linda, David L. Whitaker Sr. and wife, Linda, Wayne C."Bo" Whitaker, Peggy Roark and husband, Scotty, and Wanda Christison; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, J.L. Wolfe; and sister, Imogene Shrader, both of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb . 22, 2014, at Greenwood Baptist Church with Pastors Mack Arnold, James Vaughn and Ricky Vaughn, officiating. The interment will follow in Old McDonald Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. All memorial contributions may be made to the "Mission My Town" of Greenwood Baptist Church.
