Marion Leslie

Marion G. "Gee Daddy" Leslie, 94, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Parkridge Medical Center, Chattanooga. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion G. Leslie Sr. and Idella Long Leslie; sister, Marianna Granger; and brother, Joseph Leslie. Marion was born in Griffin, Ga., and moved to Chattanooga as a child. As a young man he attended Chattanooga Public Schools and Trade school where he took up tailoring and electricity. He was well known and admired by many. He was employed by TVA and retired after 14 years of service. He was known and respected by many young children at Kandy Kastle Child Development Center (A family Business) where he acquired the name Gee Daddy from the KK Kids for his devotion and trade of being the "FIX IT MAN". Our hearts are full of pain and joy for the many years we shared together. His family, Ophelia Leslie, wife (75 years of marriage); his children, Saundra (Larry) Green, of Douglasville, Ga.; Diane (Gerald) Mason, of Chattanooga; Adrienne (DArmy) Bailey and Valerie Brown, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Eric Boyd, of Chattanooga; Traci Green, of Douglasville, Ga.; Terrence (Tonya) Green of Douglasville; Justin Bailey ESQ, of Memphis; Merritt Bailey, Memphis; Mignon Kenton (Thomas) Chattanooga; Brooke Mason, Dale Mason and Gerald Mason Jr., Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Mason Roberson, Johnson City, Tenn.; Drake Boyd, of Fort Jackson; Madison Boyd, of Chattanooga; Mia Leslie Kenton, Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Jimmi Wilks, Boston, Mass. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church (East Eighth Street) at 2 p.m. today with the Rev. Terry Ladd officiating and the Rev. Rheubin Taylor Eulogist. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at National Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24. Arrangements by John P.
