Mary Coffman

Mary Ruth Coffman, 90, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Coffman served as Worthy Matron of the Pocahontas Chapter #163 OES and was Worthy Grand Matron for the state of Georgia 1977-1978. She was Supreme Deputy of the Rainbow girls in the state of Georgia. She had also been a member of the Rossville Business and Professional Women for 10 year and served as organist for the Jones Memorial Baptist Church for 10 years. Mrs. Coffman was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alex W. Coffman; son, Marvin (Maxine) Barrett; brother, James (Harriett) Watkins. Survivors include her daughter, Diane(Bryan) Cannon-Moore, of Flintstone; three grandchildren, Lenae (Wendell) Cheek, Russell (Arettie) Cannon and Marlene (Chris) Burgess and two great-grandchildren, Charles Cannon and Colby Burgess. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Haney and Rev. Neil Brown officiating. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O. Box 46, Chattanooga, TN 37401.
